AUK Welcomes New Students for Fall Semester Orientation

The American University of Kurdistan (AUK) kicked off the fall 2024 semester with its New Student Orientation, hosted by the Office of Student Affairs on August 21-22, 2024. This two-day event introduced 60 new students to the AUK community. This event also served as the kick-off for the First-Year Experience, a series of activities over students’ first year dedicated to their academic and personal success. New students were also introduced to their peer mentors who will introduce them to the administrative and academic policies of the institution as well as to campus life. 

Yazidi Prince Hazem Tahsin Bek Makes a Remarkable Visit to AUK

On August 29, the Prince of the Yazidis, Hazem Tahsin Bek, visited campus to discuss his commitment to education, access for all students, and ways to ensure that students get the support they need to persist to graduation. This visit marks a significant step in fostering a partnership that will further enhance educational opportunities and resources for Yezidi, Muslim, and Christian students, reinforcing AUK's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The American University of Kurdistan Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Salahaddin University – Erbil

On 15 August 2024, Dr. Kamaran Younis M. Amin, President of Salahaddin University-Erbil and Dr. Randall Rhodes, President of the American University of Kurdistan signed an MoU expressing interest in cooperative projects in the areas of research, academic and scientific activities, and other areas of common interest.

AUK's Summer School, Marking a Significant Milestone

The Center for Academic and Professional Advancement (CAPA) at the American University of Kurdistan has celebrated a major achievement with the registration of its largest cohort of students registered in their Summer School program. This year, 676 students enrolled, marking more than a 30% increase over enrollment in 2023. The curriculum is tailored for different age groups, 3 to 6, 7 to 10, and 11 to 17.

AUK Welcomes Global Talent: Six New International Faculty Members Join for Fall 2024 Semester

The American University of Kurdistan has successfully attracted international talent, further enriching its diverse faculty. This semester, students will benefit from the expertise of lecturers and professors hailing from countries such as the USA, Ireland, Lebanon, India, and Italy.
